Chiron Behring Vaccines Pvt. Ltd. is recognized as the largest manufacturer of rabies vaccines globally. In 2019, Bharat Biotech International Limited, based in Hyderabad, acquired the company from GSK. Since then, Chiron Behring has been fully operational and is actively expanding its manufacturing capabilities. The rabies vaccine is produced using Chick Fibroblast Cell Culture for virus harvesting, followed by purification and concentration through Sucrose Density Gradient. Finally, the vaccine is diluted with an appropriate stabilizer and undergoes lyophilization.
