Key Responsibilities
Execute sophisticated, sequential organic synthesis procedures spanning milligram to gram quantities. Formulate efficient synthetic pathways and refine reaction parameters with precision, consistency, and methodological rigor. Conduct reactions sensitive to air and moisture, encompassing management of pyrophoric materials and coupling methodologies. Isolate intermediates and target compounds utilizing flash chromatography, gravity chromatography, crystallization, distillation, and analogous separation methods. Evaluate spectroscopic and chromatographic data including NMR, LC-MS, and HPLC to verify compound structure and purity. Accomplish project objectives within established schedules while upholding quality and operational efficiency. Maintain comprehensive laboratory documentation through electronic and paper-based systems, including experimental protocols, interpretations, and supporting analytical information. Compose technical documentation and progress communications. Adhere to established standard operating procedures, laboratory safety protocols, environmental health and safety requirements, and quality assurance standards. Demonstrate operational competency with ChemDraw, SciFinder, Reaxys, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Electronic Laboratory Notebook platforms. Uphold rigorous standards regarding information accuracy, proprietary knowledge safeguarding, and confidentiality obligations.
